Small groups are offered for Pre-K (potty-trained 3’s) through 6th grade. Kids are put into small groups based on age to enhance their experience and learning on a level that is helpful for them. Each week leaders engage kids in games, crafts, and creative activities that reinforce the Theme, Bottom Line, Bible Story of the month.
Birth – Kindergarten uses the First Look curriculum based on 3 simple, powerful truths.

  • God Made Me
  • God Loves Me
  • Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever
1st-5th Grade uses the 252 KIDS curriculum based on 3 basic, powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52

  • I need to make wise choices
  • I can trust God no matter what
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated

Children’s Church
Children’s Church is offered at the 8:30 and 11:00 services, for those children in K-2nd grade. (3rd-6th grade are encouraged to attend worship with their families). Children join their families in the sanctuary for the first part of worship. Our friendly staff will then escort them from the sanctuary to Children’s Church following the children’s message. They will enjoy Bible stories, activities, crafts and games. The children can be picked up at the end of the worship service from the Education Building (Room 105). On days when communion is served, teachers bring children back to the sanctuary to receive communion and be seated with their family.

    UMM Service & Outreach
The UMM of St. Andrews UMC, Baton Rouge, LA was selected as one of the top three BEST UMM GROUPS in the entire United States of America. They were assessed on areas such as Spiritual Practice, Community Service, Mission Work, Leadership, Participation and more.

The men of St. Andrews were honored to receive this plaque and thank God for providing opportunities for us to be His hands and feet.

Front, Left to Right: Charles Schoonmaker (St. Andrews UMM President) and Ken Musick (St. Andrews UMM Treasurer). Back, Left to Right: Harold Choate and Ray Davis

St. Andrews UMC had many members affected by the great flood of 2016. Many of our members were actively involved in mucking out flooded houses. Now, the need is rebuilding flooded homes. Greg Bonner has been busy coordinating visiting teams from Iowa, Wisconsin, Nevada, California, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, and Texas. Also, Gil Hanke, General Secretary/CEO, of the General Commission of United Methodist Men brought a crew from Nashville, TN to help repair flooded houses and they also joined us for breakfast on Tuesday morning and Sunday morning church services.

The men of St. Andrews have enjoyed sharing our Tuesday morning breakfast with relief teams from around the country that have come to Baton Rouge to help in relief effort. May God bless each of them!

    Hope Ministries Food Pantry Distribution
Join us on the first Friday of each month (or the fifth Friday of months with five Fridays) at 8:15a in the church parking lot. We then travel and serve together from 9:00-11:00 by transporting and unloading food donations, then assist in re-packing food into small quantities to help disperse to clients of Hope Ministries.
Call Ray Davis [225-281-6053] for more info.

    Open Air Ministries
Join us on the fourth Sunday each month in the church parking lot at 11:30a to go and serve and worship with the homeless with Pastor Joseph Moore’s ministry.
Call Ray Davis [225-281-6058] for more info.

Imagine the parking lot of an old FastTrac hamburger stand that has been converted to a “parking Church” near downtown Baton Rouge!  Add one large wooden cross, two smaller ones, a bunch of palm branches, a blue rug, some benches and a man filled with the Holy Spirit and you have a Church. There are no hymnals, no altar or the other things we often associate with church; however, there is an obvious love of God and the sincere desire to worship Him. Pastor Joseph Moore lets the Holy Spirit lead and everyone is assured that Jesus loves them no matter where they lay their head to sleep. Many homeless from the community (often attended by more than 150 men, women and children) are touched each week, lives are changed. God is at work in the community. As Pastor Moore would say “Don’t make me do it by myself, let’s hear an AMEN!”

    United Methodist Children’s Home
Several times a year a group of St. Andrews men travel up to Children’s Home in Ruston, LA for a couple of days of Salsa Making. This is a huge value to the Home, raising thousands of dollars each year. We would love for all to join us on a future trip! Be sure and pick up some of this great salsa, you can find it located in a booth in the church narthex. Please take some home…. you will not be disappointed!

    United Methodist Men (UMM) Retreats
The men of St Andrews UMM come together yearly for an enriching weekend retreat of fellowship, faith, and fun. Each retreat has an engaging speaker to challenge men in their spiritual walk.
